Figurative Language
Skilled writers often use poetic elements--like personification--in their paragraphs and stories. Today, you'll be creating a short personification sentence that inspires an original story or a description.
Create a sentence of personification using the following 'non-human noun' and 'human verb':
piano
yelled
Write a story or a descriptive paragraph about a character, and use the sentence of personification somewhere in your description.
You can start your story/paragraph with your personification. Or you can hide it inside your writing and challenge a friend to find it. Don't just drop the personification and run . . . expand on it by showing memorable details and using strong adjectives and verbs.
Don't make your object really come alive; just make it seem as though it might be alive.
