Please contact us. (If you can't view the video directly from this page, please view it here, at YouTube) HRW members receive discounts on all of our Traveling Pen Writers' Workshops and at our annual writers' conference in September. Moreover, all HRW members receive a personal member page on which they may display their writer's bio and publication credits. HRW member money is used only to pay professional writers for their workshop services during the Traveling Pen Workshops and annual conference, to maintain the website, to publicize our writers' conference, to offer a few partial and complete scholarships to HRW events to people who otherwise can not afford to attend, and to cover the cost of office supplies and liability insurance. HRW is an all volunteer group of writers eager to give back some of their time, treasure, and talent in order to help other less experienced writers grow in their writing craft and ultimately attain publication success. Please consider joining HRW. Become a Member, Patron, or Corporate Sponsor Since 2008, Hampton Roads Writers has created exciting programs and partnerships throughout the Hampton Roads area. Through our annual Literary Conference, periodic writing events, open mics, workshops, classes, our Web site, e-newsletter, and partnerships with area literacy and writing programs and with other cultural arts organizations, HRW is helping to increase Hampton Roads' visiblity within Virginia and nationally as a region with a vibrant literary arts community. We seek to continue to develop and enrich literary events and literacy education in Hampton Roads, partnering with local universities, businesses, and cultural institutions. With a contributing advisory board and board of seven permanent directors, each committed to HRW's mission, we plan and execute our events carefully and with an eye toward civic responsibility, longevity, and growth. Your yearly tax-deductible contribution will help HRW's mission to promote the craft of writing and the love of literature in our communities and beyond and to support Hampton Roads' growing standing as one of the nation's most attractive and culturally progressive communities in which to live and work. If you would like more information or would like to arrange a meeting to discuss supporting Hampton Roads Writers, please contact Donna, at 757-639-6146 or HRWriters@cox.net. We greatly appreciate your YEARLY, tax-deductible support of $35.00 or more. 100% of all donations go directly toward the implementation of programs and events that help writers at all levels improve their craft and/or achieve publication success. HRW does not pay members of either board and looks for ways to stretch every penny donated. |
