Location NOT YET DETERMINED
Hosted by Michael Khandelwal
After the social ends, walk next door and join us for this free event as we create our own entertainment in a comfortable, fun, and festive environment! Hosted by Michael Khandelwal.
Sign-ups for five-minute readings slots will begin at 6:45 PM and continue through the evening (see the table with the sign-up sheets). After you have read, you are welcome to sign-up for another slot. Readings of poetry, fiction, and nonfiction are welcome. If you want to tell a joke or play an instrument, thatís fine, too. Remember that we want to accommodate everyone who wants to read/perform, so please respect the five-minute total-time limit per slot.
Weíve added a special focus to the first 1/2 hour of the open mic: A Celebration of Equality, Feminism, and Diversity: Exploring Identity and Acceptance. If you have fiction, poetry, or nonfiction related to this theme, we want to hear your voice! Pre-registration for and more information about the first 1/2 hour is available by contacting Rita Budrionis at firstname.lastname@example.org. Of course you are welcome to read something related to this theme (or not) during the rest of the open mic, too!
All are welcome. You donít have to be a member of HRW or a conference attendee to read or listen. Bring your family and friends! It may be a great way for them to get a first taste of the writing life and who you are as a writer. You donít have to read to attend.
Order food and/or drinks from The Blue Bar and have everything delivered to you at the open mic.
Amplification and podium will be provided.
The bigger the crowd, the better!
