FREE First 10-Lines Critique Sessions
Agents and editors are so swamped with submissions that they look for quick ways to reject everything in their slush pile. How can your writing get their attention? Send the first ten lines of your manuscript to HRW to hear how some of the world's most critical readers
would react to your writing. One-hour oral critique sessions will take place on
September 21 and 22. Are you interested in hearing what literary agents Molly Jaffa, Brooks Sherman, and Rachael Dugas think of your work?
If so, send EIGHT (8) copies of the first ten lines of your novel or nonfiction book to:

Items must be received in our hands NO LATER THAN August 24, 2012 to be considered for entry into one of the critique sessions.
GUIDELINES:

Please use proper format (see below)
All prose genres welcome
No fee
One submission per attendee
Authors remain anonymous; title page will be discarded after registration is confirmed
Manuscripts will be pre-selected to ensure variety
Submissions will not be returned, and authors will not be notified ahead of time if their work has been chosen for critique sessions
Required format:
Entries must be typed on 8x11-inch white paper, 12-point Times New Roman font, black ink, double-spaced with 1-inch margins
Must include a removable title page (e.g. paper clipped) that contains author’s name, title of work, and genre of work (e.g. juvenile fiction, SF, YA, memoir, etc.) Do not put your name anywhere on the manuscript.
NOTE: Only pre-registered attendees are eligible to submit work for the First 10-Lines Critique sessions.
