· Second Place Winners receive $150
· Third Place Winners receive $100
· One honorable mention per category will receive a scholarship to HRW's 2011 Writers' Conference
Judges
Fiction Judge -- Judi McCoy
Author of fourteen romance novels; titles include Making Over Mr. Right, Wanted One Special Kiss, Match Made in Heaven, and I Dream of You
Juvenile Fiction Judge -- Sue Corbett
Children's book reviewer for the Miami Herald and author of 12 Again, Free Baseball, The Last Newspaper Boy in America, and The Twelve Days of Christmas in Virginia
Nonfiction Judge -- Kerry Dougherty
Journalist who writes a news and opinion column three times a week -- Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays -- in The Virginian-Pilot. She also maintains an active blog at pilotonline.com.
Poetry Judge -- Carolyn Kreiter-Foronda
Virginia's Poet Laureate from 2006-2008. She is also a painter, sculptor and educator. In 1969, she graduated from Mary Washington College (now the University of Mary Washington) with a BA in English. She holds two masters degrees and a Ph.D. from George Mason University, where she received the first doctorate presented by the school.
